Custom web development beyond WordPress

Sometimes WordPress is the wrong tool. A custom platform, a headless CMS, a React app, or a bespoke API. Built properly, documented, and maintainable by whoever comes after us.

When custom development is the right answer

WordPress is excellent for content sites, blogs, and shops. It is not excellent for everything. When the requirement is a multi-tenant SaaS platform, a real-time dashboard, or an integration layer between six systems, forcing it into WordPress makes everyone miserable.

Custom development is the right answer when the shape of the problem does not fit the shape of any existing tool, or when the existing tools all do 80% of it badly.

What we build

1

Next.js and React applications

Server-rendered React apps with API routes, static generation, and edge deployment. Fast, SEO-friendly, and scalable.

2

Headless CMS setups

Content managed in WordPress, Strapi, or Sanity, served through a custom front end. The editing experience you want, the performance you need.

3

API integrations

Connecting systems that were never meant to talk to each other. Payment gateways, CRMs, fulfillment systems, accounting software.

4

Internal tools and dashboards

Admin interfaces, reporting dashboards, workflow tools. Built around how your team works, not how a generic SaaS thinks you should work.

5

Real-time applications

Live tracking, chat interfaces, collaborative tools. WebSocket-backed applications that update as things happen.

6

Platform migrations

Moving off legacy systems onto modern stacks. Keeping the data, replacing the infrastructure, training your team on the new tools.

How custom projects work

  1. 1

    Discovery and scoping

We work out what the system needs to do, what it integrates with, who uses it, and what success looks like. This takes at least a week.

  2. 2

    Architecture and tech choices

We propose a stack, explain the trade-offs, and write it up so you can show it to someone technical if you want a second opinion.

  3. 3

    Fixed-price scope or phased build

Small projects get a fixed price. Larger ones are scoped in phases, with each phase costed separately. You never commit to the whole thing up front.

  4. 4

    Build, review, iterate

We build in sprints, show you working software every two weeks, and adjust as we learn what works and what does not.

  5. 5

    Handover and support

You get the source code, deployment documentation, and a support period to make sure it runs properly in production.

Common questions

Do you only work with TypeScript and React?

No. Those are what we use most, but we also work in Python, PHP, and Ruby when the project needs it. We pick the stack that fits the problem.

Can you take over a half-finished project?

Yes, if the code is readable and the documentation exists. We will audit what is there, tell you what is salvageable, and scope the rest.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Custom projects can be put on a monthly retainer for updates, bug fixes, and feature work. We do not build something and disappear.

What if I need a bigger team later?

We hand over clean code, documentation, and a tech stack that is standard enough that any competent team can take over. You are not locked in.

Describe what you need built

Tell us what the system needs to do, what it integrates with, and who uses it. We will work out if we are the right fit and come back with a scope.
