Why we lead with custom
For most new builds, custom is the better fit. A site written to your brief carries nothing it does not need, so it is faster, there is less to keep updated, and the design is yours rather than a theme's with your logo in the corner. That holds for a five-page brochure site as much as for a platform.
It is the only sensible answer when the shape of the problem does not fit the shape of any existing tool: a multi-tenant SaaS platform, a real-time dashboard, an integration layer between six systems, or a requirement the off-the-shelf options all do eighty per cent of badly. We build on WordPress when you specifically need it, and we say so when that is the honest recommendation.

How custom projects work
Discovery and scoping
We work out what the system needs to do, what it integrates with, who uses it, and what success looks like. This takes at least a week.
Architecture and tech choices
We propose a stack, explain the trade-offs, and write it up so you can show it to someone technical if you want a second opinion.
Fixed-price scope or phased build
Small projects get a fixed price. Larger ones are scoped in phases, with each phase costed separately. You never commit to the whole thing up front.
Build, review, iterate
You get a staging link from early on, see working software as it grows, and we adjust as we learn what works and what does not.
Handover and support
You get the source code, deployment documentation, and a support period to make sure it runs properly in production.
Common questions
Is a custom build more expensive than WordPress?
Not necessarily. A custom build has no theme or plugin licences and less to maintain, and our fixed-price rate card starts with a custom Launch site at £2,950, with custom builds at £5,750-£12,950. The pricing page has the full list. Where WordPress is the right fit we say so and price that instead.
Do you only work with TypeScript and React?
No. Those are what we use most, and we write PHP for WordPress work. We pick the stack that fits the problem, and if a project needs something we do not do well, we say so.
Can you take over a half-finished project?
Yes, if the code is readable and the documentation exists. We will audit what is there, tell you what is salvageable, and scope the rest.
Do you provide ongoing maintenance?
Yes. Custom projects can be put on a monthly retainer for updates, bug fixes, and feature work. We do not build something and disappear.
What if I need a bigger team later?
We hand over clean code, documentation, and a tech stack that is standard enough that any competent team can take over. You are not locked in.
